Special thanks to Kate for leaving a comment yesterday that pointed me to this great series of videos from MonkeySee about how to play Sudoku.

Sudoku Tutorial

This YouTube video comes from a guy who has over 500 videos posted. I'm not sure if he's a professional video maker but I do think he's a professional Sudoku Teacher.

Just by listening to him go through an easy puzzle, you'll get a great tutorial on how to solve sudoku puzzles.

This sudoku puzzle is rated as easy but this guy still solves it pretty quickly.

Sudoku Song

Now unlike yesterday's Sudoku Song, today's video is actually about Sudoku.

It's a bit wacky but if you've been bitten by the Sudoku bug, then you'll be able to relate to it.

Sudoku Song

Hmmm... this video is called, The Sudoku Song, but I think they're a little confused about what Sudoku really is.

Regardless, it's a catchy tune and I think I might play it for my kids to make sure they behave. Enjoy!

Okay, so you've learned how to play Sudoku but don't have one of those fancy electronic handheld Sudoku gadgets and you don't get the daily paper, so how are you supposed to play? Don't worry there are tons of Free Online Sudoku sites.

Some of these puzzle can be played right in your browser, while others should be printed. But bookmarking a printable Sudoku site is probably a good ihttp://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gifdea so that you can print a bunch out to take with your on your commute or whatever.

Web Sudoku allows you to play on site or off with their downloadable application for both Mac and PC.

Strictly Sudoku is another site where you can play online but they have a cool AJAX number selector. It looks like a doughnut with 0-9 on it and it makes it easy to choose your numbers.

USA Today's Free Online Sudoku has some dummy proofing built in to their game. You can only enter numbers that haven't been entered already.

And in my opinion, Life.com has the best looking game out there and it also have an AJAX number selector but theirs looks like a keypad on a phone.

With all these options for Free Online Sudoku, it almost doesn't pay to buy a book or a gadget if you want to try out some new puzzles.

Sudoku Rules

Let's start off with this video that explains Sudoku Rules. Strategies, tips and tricks will wait until a later post. First we should learn what's the deal with the 9x9 grid and all the numbers.

Have you ever heard of that saying, a minute to learn, a lifetime to master. Well Sudoku isn't like that. It does take a little effort to learn the rules and regulations but once you do, it's a lot of fun.
